Taking its inspiration from wet floor signs and supermarket checkout grocery dividers, Room Divider implies a simple boundary within the interior. The black walnut wooden spine orients it as a piece of furniture, while the bright green powder-coated aluminum sides and exposed fasteners suggest at the same time a more industrious, municipal application. Merging the considered with the banal, the ‘designed’ with the ‘straight-out-of- the-engineering-department’ type-aesthetic, Room Divider and its unusual proportions propose new ways of organizing possessions in the home.
